smoking should NOT be made illegal

Can you imagine you love lollies, but you couldn't help it, your addicted, and the all of a sudden just because some people don't like it, the government decide to ban it. I know i wouldn't like it, and neither should you. Can you imagine that, How HORRIBLE, not having another lolly ever again because non lolly-eaters don't like it. If the government does decided to ban cigarets. It will be a waste of money, it effort, and jobs. A ban of cigarets may lead to depression throughout New Zealand. Firstly I believe that we should NOT ban smoking because some people just simply enjoy it. They can't help it, they aren't worried about the affects it is causing the. Sure you see al of those people that have died due to smoking, but thats only because they have smoked a packet or more a day for nearly their whole life. Plus they only show you the worst of it so that people get disgusted and scared. The point of this piece of writing was to show you that New Zealander's should be able to make their own choices. Isn't that what we and the government want? Well I hope that you agree because i know that by agreeing with me you will be right.

DARE POST

I have really enjoyed my time with Constable Julie, I learnt a lot and had so much fun with all of her games,  activities,  facts,  humor,  and personality.

One of the many things that I learnt from Julie was the amount of tar and other substances that are in cigarets and are transfered into your blood stream and lungs.   Another thing that I learnt was the affects of drugs, even the minor class C drugs.  One last thing that I learnt was to never give up on other people and most importantly, yourself.

One of my two highlights during the dare project was the strategy game that we learnt off of Julie. But my overall favorite part of the Dare Project, was the conscience game. it really opened your mind to what it would be like doing those sort of things with those thoughts in your head

My WOW moment during dare was seeing how much smoke and brown stuff went into your body. It was truly disgusting but also opened a lot of peoples eyes, Julie made a difference to the way I look at dugs, cigarets, and alcohol.

Its people like Julie that really make the difference in this world.  and for that we thank you.

Science Fair Reflection

I thoroughly enjoyed doing the science fair because it gave us an opportunity to let us explore and or discover our weaknesses and strengths. I though that this was a good opportunity to show that I am capable of such high quality work. But it a pares that I need to work on my time management skills.
I think that if I was to had tried harder, than i could have accomplished so much more.

TAFA water cycle

The carbon cycle

Introduction
Carbon? What is it and where is it found. Carbon or, C02 is what we breathe out right at this very moment in fact. Carbon is found in humans, animals, sea, trees, and even rocks and shells, C02 is a very crucial part of the planet we live in. But it is being exposed and released in unnecessary amounts. This will become a problem over time.
Land
The carbon cycle is everywhere in everything, factories is one place that humans have stored C02 to power and run there man made machinery. C02 can also be found in forests, bush fires are one way to release the trees C02 into the atmosphere, deforestation is another, when the tree burns or is cut down, the now dead tree, releases all of its contained C02. But how does the tree get its C02. This is all done through  process named photosynthesis photosynthesis involves the trees/plants and humans. When humans exhale we release carbon or C02 into the atmosphere, and when we inhale we breathe in oxygen. trees and plants do the exact opposite, they breathe in C02 and breathe out oxygen, this is so that us humans have oxygen to breathe in, and the plants have something to live off. Another way that carbon moves is through a process called decompostion, decompostion is when trees die and compact into the soil or ground, which the is a bit like deforestation, the now dead tree releases all of it excess C02. After this is completed, the dead trees are stored for years and years, eventually turning into fossil fuels, this is so that we can power cars, trucks, things like that. man made things .
sea/ocean
Diffusion is a process when the ocean absorbs C02 from the atmosphere, and is then transferred into sea plants such as plankton, seaweed, kelp and coral. This enables these plants to survive as well. As you can see diffusion is exactly the same as photosynthesis, except underwater. Once the marine life (fish) eat the underwater plants, the plants overtime then die and sink to the sea floor, once the plant has died at the sea floor, it the releases all of its remaining C02 into the water for fish and other underwater plants to absorb. This process is called sedimentation, which is decomposion, except once again underwater. As for the fish which now contains the plants C02, when the fish dies, it releases its C02 for other fish and plants to absorb.
human impact
Human impact is influencing how much C02 we are producing into the atmosphere . This is becoming a problem because with things like, deforestation, factories, and even things like cars, heavy machinery, and burning things like fossil fuels such as oil, coal, and gases. all of the above are releasing excess C02. Which then is leading to global warming. Global warming will change the world on a huge scale. we wont have things like the polar ice caps. Excess C02 in the atmosphere is not needed now, or ever. We should be reducing the amount of C02 in our atmosphere, not increasing it. Respiration, factories, transport, natural bush fires, photosynthesis, should be accountable for because there is not much that we can do about these things. But the amount of unnecessary aspects on the plant that are releasing to much C02, is becoming a huge worry. This will not only effect our future, but the next generations also.
conclusion
As you can see, the carbon in our atmosphere is becoming a problem, I hope that you now know that if we all don’t make a difference, we will all pay the consequences.

Write a clear and detailed explanation on the water cycle

What is the water cycle?
Most of us may just think that rain just comes from the sky. But NO!!!!!
It’s actually quite a complicated process to think about. But not to explain, the water cycle is a huge part of life that is all done behind the scenes, a lot of people didn’t even know that it existed.
The water cycle starts with a lake, puddle, river, stream, or even trees and leaves. Firstly the sun evaporates the water, turning it from a liquid to vapor into tiny little water droplets which repelled from the ground and taken in to the sky, then the droplets form clouds. Te droplets rises into the sky and reach a certain point of pressure, in which the water then stops rising, coming together, once again to form clouds.
Another form of evaporation, which involves moisture on trees and leaves, being evaporated and extracted to form more clouds, this process is names transpiration.
Condensation is the next step in the water cycle, the step includes vapor or evaporation, it gets stuck, or trapped, half way through the process, say for instance the vapor was trapped inside, on the windows, or even when you are taking a shower, it changes back from a gas (vapor) to a liquid. Like in the shower when you get out, all of the steam that had come off of the hot water rises because it has been heated and when you turn off the shower it cools down, finds a place to rest, and turns back into a liquid.
The last step in the water cycle is precipitation, precipitation is when the vapour, which has formed the clouds, gets to heavy and eventually turns into rain. When the rain falls it falls on hills, mountains, lakes, streams. Place like that, the water runs off across the land it is called, surface run off, now that the water has run through the rivers and streams, it has ended back up into the sea and lakes, thats why they say that if you are lost you follow the river, because it will lead you to a sea. where the water cycle started started, this step is called accumulation. Accumulation is where the whole cycle starts, and it’s also where most of the evaporation comes from.
As you can see the process of rain is quite amazing. Now when it rains you will know how it happens, and what it’s been through.

WALT- Write a detailed biography on a class mate

My biography on Harry Crawford
Harry Crawford’s    Biography

Harry Benjamin Crawford was born on the 19th of Feburary 2001, 5:32, Hutt Hospital,  New Zealand. Harry currently lives in Days Bay, Eastbourne, Lower Hutt, and attends Muritai  School.

Harry took an interest in music at a fairly young age, 2 years of old to be in fact. The love for Harry's musical interest came from The Wiggles, a show that Harry watched when he was younger. Harry now is 11 and is apart of two local bands, one named the bum notes, which is a band made up of a collection of students in Harry's school. In this band Harry plays drums. Harry is also in another band which is the school band, in this band harry plays the bass guitar. Harry actually only recently took an interest in the bass guitar. Harry says that he loves the bass guitar because of how easy it is to play and the rhythm that it involves. Harry says that he is locally known for playing in the bum notes, and wants to pursue his career in the bum notes until he either retires or the band for some reason breaks up. Personally I think that's what makes a really good band member.

Harry says that he has a reasonable sized family which includes a mother named Hailey, a father named Gary, a brother Named Jack, and a sister named Georgia, and another sister name Lucy, and of course Harry himself. Harry describes his mum and dad as easy going and fun people, Harry's sister recently attended the Hawaii National Gymnastics competition, Harry's brother Jack is in a local band named the the smoking aces, which is where Harry's love for the band has come from.

Harry says that his interests include: rugby, swimming, mountain biking, maths, writing, science, I.C.T- all fascinating subjects if you ask me. Some of Harry's weaknesses are handwriting, spelling, art, skating and scrabble, “ I would love to get better at all of the above though”, Harry describes himself  as a partially organized, person. During my time questioning Harry I found that Harry's earliest memory is swimming in the Hawkes Bay sea. Harry's childhood highlights so far are learning to double and single water ski, getting a high distinction in maths in year 4, and going duck shooting.

Harry's ambitions in life are to own a nice house, be reasonably wealthy, have a nice wife that is smart, kind, a little bit more strict that Harry him self, and be multi-talented. Harry wants to have 2-3 kids, that's are fit, smart, and have good grades at school. Harry is also known to love dogs, he wants to own two dogs, 1 big and 1 small, Harry wants his kids to take the dogs for walks for 1 walk a day . At the age of 21 Harry wants to move to Scotland and be in a Scottish rock band and take a role as a drummer. For Harry's occupation he wants to be a lawyer, he decided this after his mum, Hailey saying that Harry's dad was an accountant and saying that it was very boring.

It is pretty obvious that Harry is a easy going person who is well educated, wants to be successful and have a nice adventurous life. Harry wants to be a good dad and husband, with a nice house and be surrounded by people that love him very much. I think that Harry Benjamin Crawford will turn out to be a really nice guy.
